Rehearse duplicate webhook effects, retries and stale events
A delivery acknowledgement does not prove that a side effect happened once. Start with a local synthetic failure, compare the guarded and naive results, and understand the boundary before connecting a real sender.
For: Backend developers and learners preparing event handlers.
A useful starting sequence
- Run the duplicate-effect exercise and compare repeated writes with the guarded example.
- Change the event order or retry a synthetic failed attempt. Inspect the result rather than relying only on a successful status.
- Use the reusable harness for your trusted local adapter, or use the written lessons to explain the failure. Implement real signatures, transactions and durability separately.
One concrete example
Two deliveries carry the same event ID. The naive exercise repeats an effect; the guarded exercise remembers the completed ID in memory. Restarting a process or using multiple servers needs a durable design beyond this example.
Choose the part you need
Use it when: Backend developer rehearsing event-handler behavior before connecting a real provider.
Free: The browser replay preview and complete duplicate-effect exercise are free.
Paid adds: Reusable local adapter harness, synthetic scenarios, expected behavior and editable tests.
Limit: In-memory, single-process training harness; no durable queue, production receiver or signature implementation.
Inspect the proof and download details →Use it when: Junior backend engineer learning event-delivery failure modes.
Free: Lesson one and its public browser exercise are free.
Paid adds: Six written lessons, quizzes and local exercises in one guided sequence.
Limit: Written lessons; no credential, certification or recorded video included.

Stripe's official webhook guide and CLI are a good free starting point. These downloads offer a bounded local rehearsal and explained learning cases, not a hosted receiver or production payment integration.

Do I need to buy every tool in this group?
No. Run the relevant free example first. Buy one prepared workflow only if its contents and requirements match your current task. The group is a navigation guide, not an additional bundle or subscription.
What does a successful example prove?
It shows the named synthetic behavior in the documented environment. It does not certify a production application, establish compatibility with every editor or substitute for your own integration tests.
